Materials used:

  • The upper is made of high-quality Nappa leather. This material boasts excellent moisture resistance and is easy to care for
  • The lining of the shoe is made from Dermodry Coolmax® technical fabric, which enables constant moisture drainage. This type of lining speeds up the process of moisture-drainage and sweat absorption, thanks to which the skin of the foot remains dry. Dermodry Coolmax® is a soft, light, and breathable material typically used in luxurious footwear models and undergoes the most demanding technical quality tests performed in independent laboratories
  • The sole is made from soft synthetic rubber with high wear-and-tear resistance. The Retro Sole draws inspiration from street sports and art from the late 20th century
  • The removable insole comprises recycled PU material and microfiber, which provides excellent breathability while keeping your feet dry

How to measure your foot correctly?

  1. Place a sheet of paper on a flat hard surface and stand on it. Stand straight and relax your toes
  2. Hold the pen vertically and trace the outline of your entire foot
  3. Measuring length: mark the longest part of your foot from the center of the heel to the tip of the longest toe. Connect the points and measure the foot length
  4. Measuring width: mark the widest part of your foot. Connect the marks and measure the foot width. Write down the measured values
  5. Add approx. 0.197 inches to your measured length and you have your size

I already have about 6 pairs of Belenkas so take this review for what it is. My feet are 24 cm, 10 cm wide and the ball circumference is about 23 cm. I decided to go for 38 and I’m glad I did; while I think I would have liked a millimeter or two extra in width the length was actually perfect. They look very structured, and well-constructed. A bit stiffer than I’m used to from Belenka but I’m guessing it helps keep the shoes looking good longer. The shoelaces are a bit too long and please, Belenka, let me opt out of the key ring if I ever buy another pair of Barebarics. I don’t dislike extras but I have no use for it and I’d rather you put your budget to something else.

Anyway, as usual, thank you for making great shoes that have carried me through both winters and summers without breaking. Cheers! 🥂

First time buying from Belenka but I am happy with my purchase. The shoe has more sole and is more rigid than my other barefoot shoes but still comfortable. They feel better after you have used them a little bit. I think these shoes are ideal on urban environments where you have to walk on very hard surfaces. The materials used seem to be high quality so hoping I can wear them a long time with proper maintenance. I think the styling is also very nice making them a good fit in urban environment.
