Everything that keeps your barefoot shoes going. Insoles that keep the inside fresh and care products that protect the materials, season after season.
Small things that change how a shoe fits
A wide toe box only works if nothing undoes it. A thick cushioned insole fills the space the shoe was built to give; an upper left uncleaned through a winter of road salt hardens and cracks. Accessories are not extras here — they are part of whether the shoe does its job, and for how long.
What you will find here
Barefoot insoles are thin by design. They manage moisture, keep the inside of the shoe fresh and add a pleasant feel underfoot, without stealing the room your toes need or the flexibility the sole is built for.
Shoe care products — cleaning foams, water-repellent sprays, leather wax and brushes — are what keep a pair looking good and lasting through several seasons rather than one.
And if you are shopping for someone else, a gift card lets them pick the model, the size and the color themselves.
Which accessories to start with
If you are buying your first barefoot pair, a water-repellent spray is the one thing worth adding straight away. It costs little, it takes two minutes to apply, and it protects the upper from the first rainy commute rather than the tenth.
After that it depends on the season. Going into winter, a membrane-safe spray matters most, along with cleaning road salt off the same day. Going into summer, a cleaning foam for textile uppers. Leather models of any season are worth a wax a few times a year.
How long does it take to adapt to training in minimalist shoes?
+ -Usually a few weeks for general training, longer if you are running or jumping a lot. Start with warm-ups, mobility and lighter sets, and add load gradually. Mild soreness in the calves and arches early on means the muscles are working; sharp or lasting pain means back off. Your feet get stronger fastest when the progression is boring.
Which accessories do I actually need with barefoot shoes?
+ -A basic care product covers almost everything. A cleaning foam and a water-repellent spray keep the upper in good shape through a season, and leather models benefit from a wax a few times a year. Everything else is optional and depends on how and where you wear your shoes.
Can I use regular shoe care products on barefoot shoes?
+ -Generally yes, as long as the product matches the material: wax and conditioner for leather, foam and spray for textile and synthetic uppers, and a membrane-safe spray for models with a membrane. What to avoid is anything harsh, and drying shoes near direct heat afterwards, which damages both leather and adhesives.
Do you sell replacement laces and other parts?
+ -The range in this category changes through the season. Check the current listing for what is available, and see the individual product pages for details on sizes and compatibility with specific models.
